FIELD UPDATE
Coaches' Summaries
of the Meet -
* The boys' track team kicked off their season with a very strong
showing this Saturday at the Wheeler Relays. Several personal
best performances were recorded as the boys exceeded the coaching
staff's already high expectations to finish 7th in a field of
17 teams while setting one new school record along the way.
* The 4 X 800m relay team of Brandon Black, Julian Black, Patrick
Reith, and Danny Munoz set a school record with their 1st place
time of 8:22.58. The 4 X 1600m relay team of Jack Bell, Brandon
Black, Julian Black, and Andy George earned a 2nd place finish
in an exciting race with a 19:32.98 effort, while Ricardo Dunbar,
Martin Jenkins, Antonio Morgan, and Bog'ere Sanders turned in
a solid 43.37 performance en route to a 4th place finish in
the 4 X 100m relay.
Other top 10 performances:
* Donte Clark finished in 10th place in the 300 hurdles with
a 44.54 effort.
Michael Denney and Graham Harwood cleared 10-0 and 8-6, respectively,
to finish 5th and 6th in the pole vault.
* Donte Clark captured 9th in the high jump with a leap of 5-8
while Henry Pierre cleared the height of 5-6 to finish 10th.
* While the girls' team will be in action this coming Saturday
at Wheeler, the Running Knights' full squad will open our home
season by hosting Riverwood and Dunwoody in the Fortress this
Wednesday. Volunteers are still needed for the following
