WHEELER RELAYS - GIRLS' RESULTS

Coaches' Summaries of the Meet -
The girls' track team continued to build on their early season success as our Lady Knights took advantage of the perfect weather conditions at the Wheeler Relays on Saturday, March 7. The girls scored 32.83 points to secure 8th place in a field crowded with many of the areas talented athletes.

The Lady Knights were paced by a 1st place finish in the Distance Medley Relay by Marnie Williams, Brooke Koblitz, Madison Seymour, and Katie June. The team overwhelmed the field with with a time of 13:37.36. Ashley Rosenberg cleared 8'6" to take 3rd in the Pole Vault, once again tying her own school record.

A 3rd place finish was also recorded by the 4 X 1600m team of Marnie Williams, Brooke Koblitz, Gina Siffri, and Katie June with a time of 23:47.68. Williams, Koblitz, Siffri, and June teamed up once more for a 10:43.36 finish in the 4X 800m relay to secure a 5th place finish.

The High Jump provided a surprise source of success as Teah McClendon and Brandi Williams both cleared the height of 4-04 to finish in 5th and 6th places, respectively.

Rounding out the Knights' outstanding showing was a 9th place finish in the Long Jump by Lindsey Rosenberg with a leap of 14-01.25.

The boys' and girls' teams also competed in a dual meet with Chattahoochee on Wednesday. While results are still not in from this exciting back yard match-up, we have confirmed at least one new school record! Katie June smashed the 2 Mile record with her dash of 11:54.82! Way to go, Katie June!

The coaching staff and athletes alike are extremely pleased at the level of performance this early in the season. We believe that SUCCESS IS A TEAM SPORT and we could not do it without you!
